Here in the corner of the cruise terminal, surrounded by concrete, it is very hot on deck. We are eating lunch having finally completed the formalities; shorts, sun hats and jandals are finally dug out from the bags and lockers where they have languished for weeks.
As we are here early I decided to stay on’hotel Europa’ till we have to leave on Friday and then fly home, arriving Saturday. I have a plan for this blog too: I intend to post about three photos a day in order of the journey, relating to the blog post of that day. I hope to get started on it from next Monday, giving me time to pick some images from the Straits of Magellan.
In the meantime, I will report on Cape Town and there may even be pictures.

Hope the dock is not bouncing up and down too much and your sea-legs are retreating into (temporary) memory.
I’ve been following the voyage of Europa and very much enjoyed your descriptive and sometimes poetic blog posts! Thanks for spending the time and energy to do them, even as the boat heels away from a gale, and keeping all us landlubbers informed of our friends’ progress.
Colin – friend of Felix.
Hi Colin – so glad you’ve enjoyed it. Felix has been a real toughie. Up there in all weathers.
Loved following your progress and your blogs – welcome back to dry land xx
